Order and Chaos for iPad/iPhone

Order & Chaos pushes the limit of what kind of games you can play on your iOS devices. Developed by Gameloft, Order & Chaos is an MMORPG (you create a character and play with thousands of other people in a virtual world) that’s very much like World of Warcraft. The graphics and animation are not at the level of Infinity Blade but it’s definitely enough to please gamers. Here’s a screenshot followed by the official promotional video.

Apple’s New Cupertino Campus looks Amazing

Apple CEO Steve Jobs delivered a presentation to the Cupertino City Council detailing his plans for the new Apple Campus. Personally I think the things they want to accomplish with their new building dwarfs the WWDC2011 keynote! They’re literally putting up a building that looks like a UFO (oh and it can house 12,000 people). Here’s what it will look like:

The new building will have it’s own natural power source and 80% of the entire grounds will be landscape (yep trees not asphalt). Watching this presentation is truly inspiring. It really pushes the boundaries of what’s possible. :)

Here’s the video of Steve presenting to the council:

Btw, politicians really ask stupid questions. Lol.

iOS5′s iMessenge to challenge BlackBerry Messenger?

During the keynote at WWDC2011, Apple dropped a bombshell that shook the entire telco and tech industry. They’re rolling out a cross iOS platform messaging service called iMessage. It works like BlackBerry Messenger wherein users can send messages and photos to their friends using 3G or WiFi. This will work on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad (Finally iPad gets more functionalities for business/work).

iOS5 is scheduled to launch sometime in September – November (Apple just said Fall).

Freewalk Xmart Cover for the iPad 2

A lot of people find the Apple Smart Cover to be expensive at Php2,200. I would have bought like 3-4 Smart Covers if only they were in the Php800-Php1,200 price point. We do have a cheaper alternative though available in the Philippines. Power Mac Center (Megamall) is currently carrying exact replicas of the Apple Smart Cover called Freewalk Xmart Covers. Photo:

Keynote Updated for the iPad/iPhone

Keynote is one of my most used applications for my iPad 2. It’s the app I use to deliver my weekly updates at work, give my talks during conferences and seminars, and a great app to build presentations while you’re mobile. One of the things though that I hated about it was the organization of the files. It was tedious flipping through all the presentations one at a time. That’s why I was so happy to find out that the latest Keynote update didn’t only just make the app available on the iPhone but it also completely revamped the file management system! Just like iOS, you can now stack the presentations and put them into folders! Here’s a screenshot of mine:

If you haven’t updated your Keynote app, do so asap! :)

iPad 2 Speck PixelSkin HD Wrap

Power Mac Center stocked up on the new iPad 2 Speck PixelSkin HD Wrap. It’s a solid case that covers both the back and the front of your iPad 2. The front cover mimics the functions of the Smart Cover (except for the magnets) but you can fold it to prop the iPad 2 for typing or viewing on landscape. The front cover also has a microsuction mechanism to make sure it’s locked in place if you want it covered.

Sells for just Php1,980. It will probably be sold out by early next week though. Hehe. :)

iPad 2 iPearl Leather Case with Stylus Review

The iPearl Leather Case is a new iPad 2 case that I found in Theater Mall, Greenhills. It’s exterior is made from synthetic black leather (tough material for protection) and the interior has several elements which make it a pretty good all-in-one case. It comes already with a stylus (which is held by a stylus loop), a stand, card compartments, and a back flap strap you can insert your hand in when you want to carry it around so that you don’t drop the iPad 2.

iStudio Shangrila Mall

iStudio is one of my favorite Apple resellers in the Philippines. They have friendly staff and a good range of products. One particular branch that I usually visited was the one in Shangrila. They recently moved to a bigger space on the third floor beside Cole Haan. The place looks much better now and they have more products on display. I went over last night to buy my Jabra Bluetooth Headset. :)

More Letique Genuine Leather Sleeve for iPad/iPad 2 Review

The More Letique Genuine Leather Sleeve for the iPad/iPad 2 is a stylish, classic, and premium slip-in sleeve. It’s definitely more for entrepreneurs and professionals since the design, look, and feel is not something teens would appreciate. Made from full grain cowhide genuine leather so it really gives good protection and the case ages well. The sleeve is compatible with either the first or second generation iPad, with or without the Smart Cover from Apple. It’s available in 3 colors: Black, Brown, and Gray. It also comes with crystal screen protectors. Photos and details after the break. Continue reading

iPhone Kensington PowerLift Back-up Battery and Dock

The Kensington PowerLift Back-up Battery and Dock will give your iPhone 4/3G/3Gs/ extra power and it also serves as one of the best looking docks in the market. It has a 1200 mAh battery that you recharge via USB and it’s convertible from in-hand use to dock via the kickstand. It’s a great accessory for people who use FaceTime chats often. The USB cable is built-in already into the device so you don’t need to purchase a new one (7.6cm). More photos and price after the break. Continue reading

SGP Illuzion Sleeve for iPad 2 Review

SGP is turning out to be one of the best brands for Apple accessories. They have a solid line-up of cases for iPhones and they recently launched SGP Illuzion for the iPad 2, a new line of sleeves that matches the colors of Apple’s Smart Covers. The sleeves are made from genuine soft leather to give the iPad 2 ample protection against scratches, dents, and bumps. The iPad 2 fits perfectly inside it even if it has a Smart Cover (which is the point of this sleeve methinks).

iPad 2: Full Hands-on Review

We’ve had the iPad 2 for a few weeks now and we have enough hands-on with it to give a comprehensive review. It took us some time to review as well because we were trying to figure out what was so different with the iPad 2 that will make iPad 1 users upgrade. We’ve found some possible features but it really isn’t all that compelling. However if you’re a person who decided to skip the first iPad and wait for the second generation then you’re in luck because the iPad 2 is probably the best tablet out in the market today.

The iPad 2 has the same spacious and gorgeous 9.7-inch, 1024×768 display. In terms of Continue reading

iPad 2 to officially launch in the PH May?

There’s been a lot of talk going around on when the iPad 2 will be officially available in the Philippines. You can actually buy an iPad 2 right now through gray market vendors but it’s usually priced P5,000 higher. For example, the 16GB WiFi only model should just sell for around P24,000. However it’s currently being sold for P29,000-P32,000. It definitely pays to have patience right? Anyway, due to the massive delayed launch for the first generation iPad in the Philippines (December 2010), some people are thinking that the iPad 2 will also be available here 4th quarter. However we have it in good confidence that the iPad 2 might actually launch May (next month).

If you’ve been planning on getting an iPad 2 we strongly recommend you wait it out. That additional P5000 is good enough for your Smart Cover and sleeve. :)

Moshi iGlaze for iPad

One of the biggest problems with iPad cases is that it makes your tablet thicker and heavier. Sometimes it looks as if what you’re carrying is a binder/organizer and not a tablet. This is probably why a lot of back cases are still very popular in the market today. My favorite back case among the bunch is Moshi’s iGlaze. It’s a simple, stylish, and beautiful sliding back case for the iPad.
